The STEM Learning Academy at SBHS will recognize and celebrate students’ learning in the STEM fields. Students will take part in a series of courses, community-based experiences, and research opportunities. After successfully completing the requirements, they will have a designation on their transcripts and will be honored at graduation.

Create a culture of regularly exploring college and careers options
Gain real world experiences through professional partnerships and internships
Develop professional skills and gain confidence
Create networks of community connections in fields of interest
Develop sense of belonging within affinity groups
Post-secondary recognition of students' sustained commitment
Ability to serve students of various academic backgrounds
Strengthen school-community relationships
Earn 9 credits in Science, Math, and/or Tech-Ed courses
Complete a Research Project
Participate in monthly cohort gatherings (held during Advisory block)
Attend a specific number of extended learning opportunities (i.e.: clubs, summer programs, guest speakers, field trips, events, etc.)
Applications will be accepted until October 18th, 2024
Academy will begin in November for the 2024-25 school year
