The purpose of this curriculum is for students to identify their feelings, the intensity or how big the feelings are, use coping skills learned, and match the size of the problem to the emotion/behavioral response. Feeling words are listed under the different color zones and we focus more on the intensity or largeness of feelings than the words. We work hard to help students understand that all feelings have behaviors and some behaviors can be unexpected for the feeling. When we are happy we smile.
