Process

Follow the steps below to compete the All About Angles project:

  1. Assign roles for you and your partners: Secretary, Navigator, and Slide Master. The Secretary will be responsible for typing the necessary information for our research. The Navigator will be responsible for navigating this website. The Slide Master will be responsible for the overall planning of the Google Slideshow. ALL GROUP MEMBERS should be working together to create the Google Slideshow, but the Slide Master has the final say about the presentation. Use rock, paper, scissors if you cannot agree on roles.
  2. The Secretary and the Navigator login to Google Drive.
  3. The group Secretary will make a copy of the "Guiding Questions for All About Angles" doc.
  4. At the top of the Google Doc, the Secretary will type all of the group members' names.
  5. The Secretary will share the Google Doc with the Navigator and Slide Master.
  6. The Navigator will go to the Measuring Angles activity on abcya.com and guide the group through the lesson at the beginning of the activity. As the group finds answers to the research questions, the Secretary will record the answers on the group's Google Doc.
  7. After the research has been completed, the Slide Master will create a new Google Slideshow and share it with the group.
  8. The group will work collaboratively to create a Google Slideshow that answers the two main research questions: 1) What are all the different types of angles, and 2) How do we measure angles? Be sure to include all of the information on the Guiding Questions doc. Be sure to check out the Rubric to see how you will be scored.
  9. The Google Slideshow must include custom images (images that you have created). This will be accomplished by taking images with iPad minis, uploading them to your Google Drive account, and inserting them into the Slideshow. Images must be relevant to the slide. Your images may not include any students' faces. Please see Mrs. Ashley when you get to this point in the project.
  10. Make sure you've shared your copy of the "Guiding Questions" doc and your Google Slideshow with Mrs. Ashley at jennifer.ashley@somersetschools.org
  11. Completed projects will be presented to your peers, teachers, and family members.
