Bicycles & Helmets

• Only students in Grades 4-6 may ride their bikes to school.

• Bicycle riders must wear a helmet in accordance with state law. A student who rides without a helmet will not be permitted to ride home; a parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up the student at dismissal.

• The riding of bicycles on school property is not permitted. Bikes must be walked at all times while on school grounds, including the parking lot.

• Bicycles should be locked to prevent theft.

• The school is not responsible for damage to or theft of bicycles.

• Failure to abide by these rules will result in loss of bike-riding privileges.

Please refer to Saddle Brook Board of Education Policy and Regulation 5514. Policy 5514 states that students are not permitted to bring any motorized bicycle, skateboard, scooter, roller skates, hoverboard, or other motorized mode of transportation on school grounds during the school day.
