Scottsbluff Public Schools - Every Child, Every Day
Class Description
The decade of the 1960s is one of the most consequential in American history. Many of the issues that we are facing today were faced in the 1960s. Our semester will be spent in an in-depth analysis of how the decade continues to shape America today. Our focus will not only be on the historical events of the time. We will also discuss cultural changes as well. From music to movies to fashion to television, change was in the air and it was fundamental. As Dr. John McWilliams wrote in his book, The 1960s Cultural Revolution, "The Sixties: History in motion. At warp speed. We may never be the same."
