Keyboarding

  • Keyboarding is a one-semester course designed to help students develop speed and accuracy by learning the touch operation of alphanumeric/keyboard characters. Emphasis is placed on the following: mastery of the keyboard with desirable keyboarding techniques; development of speed and accuracy; and proper care of the equipment.


Keyboarding Technique Tips:

  1. Feet flat on the floor

  2. Eyes on monitor

  3. Arms relaxed by side

  4. Fingers curved and on home row

  5. Position your keyboard so that the "J" key is centered in the middle of your torso

  6. Sit up tall

  7. Cover your fingers to help increase accuracy and speed. (An example covering would be a dish towel)
