After School: 3:00 pm -7:30 pm
Course Description: This class is a semester-long required class. It is a comprehensive, skill-based program designed to develop skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Project-based learning through the use of technology tools is also used, which provides students with a realistic snapshot of the technology used in today' s world.
Classroom Culture: I have very high expectations of you and I believe in your ability to succeed! We will work hard to have a positive and enjoyable classroom environment. Students will suffer consequences if that environment is disrupted.
Procedures:
Beginning of Class
Enter the room quietly, sanitize your hands, and sit in the assigned seat.
Agenda will be posted with daily instructions and bell ringer activity.
During Class
Bathroom/water/nurse/locker policy:
Use bathroom during passing time
Use Securly to sing out/in for bathroom/water/nurse after getting permission.
Only one person out of the class at a time
You may have a clear water bottle, containing only water, and it must be kept on the floor.
Please do not touch or tamper with any of the cords or plug-ins.
Please do not personalize the computers
End of Class
Log off and pick up your belongings.
Clean area around your table and bring keyboards toward the end of the table.
Push chair in and stand behind your chair until I dismiss.
We DO NOT line up at the door.
Conduct and Behavior:
Each student will…
Be respectful of all property.
Act in a safe and mature manner.
Be respectful of the rights and needs of others.
Be responsible for his/her own learning.
Attendance:

If you get behind because of absences, you may arrange a time with me to come in and get caught up.
Tardies:
Definition: Not in your seat when the bell rings.
Tardy #1 – 10 minute detention with me
Tardy #2 – 10 minutes detention with me
Tardy #3 – 10 minute detention with me and contact parents/guardians
Tardy #4 – Office referral
Late Work/Retake Policy: Handbook Policy: Students will have one week from the assigned due date to turn in any missing assignment. Make arrangements with me.
Cell Phone/Earbuds/Device Usage: Due to their serious disruption of the learning environment, threat to test security and personal privacy, and general inappropriate use by students, cell phones/wireless earbuds/devices are not to be used inside the school building. Staff will ask to confiscate the cell phone/earbuds/device if:
These devices need to be put in lockers at the beginning of the day.
If they are used, they will be confiscated and the student will receive an office referral. The parent/guardian may pick up the confiscated cell phone/device from the office.

Grading Scale: This class uses the point system for grading purposes. All class requirements are given a point value based on the effort required to complete and the importance of the material. The following is the grade scale based on a percentage of points earned by student:
A 90% - 100%
B 80% - 89%
C 70% - 79%
D 60% - 69%
F 59% and below
