Welcome! This is my third year teaching sixth-grade math at BMS, and I am proud to be a Puma! Before joining BMS, I spent over 20 years teaching third grade, physical education, and fifth grade at Gering Public Schools and Westmoor Elementary.
My husband, Tory, and I have three children. When our daughter, Ashtyn, was three years old, she faced a challenging battle with leukemia. Her courageous fight inspired me to become a passionate advocate for childhood cancer awareness and support. In honor of Ashtyn and other brave children, I founded the Team Ashtyn Foundation, which supports families navigating the difficult journey of childhood cancer.
When I’m not teaching or working with the foundation, you can usually find me spending time with my adult children in eastern Nebraska.
I am inspired by Jackie Robinson’s words: “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” I carry that spirit into my teaching, advocacy, and role as a mother.
I look forward to an amazing year with my students and cannot wait to share my love of math and learning with them. Here’s to a fantastic year filled with growth, exploration, and success!
