Welcome to TK

The Transitional Kindergarten program is for children who are eligible for kindergarten and will be 5 years old by September 15 of the current year.  It is designed to meet the needs of children who are academically ready for kindergarten, but may need another year to mature socially before entering kindergarten. A thematic approach is used to enhance pre-academic, social, emotional, and motor skills through a variety of fun “hands-on” activities.  The following school “survival skills” are emphasized: independence, problem solving, following directions/routines, and treating others with kindness and respect.

Days of attendance:  Monday thru Friday

Hours of attendance: 8:15 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Spaces Available:  12 students

Priority will be given in the following order:

• • • Students with late summer birthday

    • Students with no preschool experience

    • Attendance in SBL preschool program

    • Teacher recommendation

Consumable fee: Any applicable fees are included with the registration information

**Copies of your child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, physical form (including lead screening result), immunizations and dental screenings are required before your child can start school in August. A vision screening is also recommended.
