For primary and general elections, absentee ballots will be available at your County Auditor’s office no earlier than 20 days before the election.
A registered voter may make written application to their County Auditor for an absentee ballot. A written application for a mailed absentee ballot must be received by the voter's County Auditor no later than 5:00 p.m. 15 days before the election.
To vote in Iowa, you must be registered to vote,
A U.S. citizen,
A school district resident, and
At least 17 years old. A person may vote if they will be 18 years old on or before election day. In the case of primary elections, a person may vote if they will be 18 years old on or before the corresponding regular election.
