Standards that you are guaranteeing ALL students will know and be able to do at the end of the year. These are the standards you will write your common formative assessments around.
Common formative assessments increase the likelihood that students will have access to the same curriculum, acquire the same essential knowledge and skills, take assessments of the same rigor, and have their work judged according to the same criteria.
Provide “time and support” for students who haven’t mastered standards and extension for those who already have.
Offer a quick check point for the coaches/administrators who are wanting to get a glimpse into what a team is working through. Icon provides examples and running agendas for PLCs.
Help keep accurate records of PLC efforts during the year as it pertains to the other steps.
