Day in the Life of Prep

Below is a daily schedule that we work towards in Prep. We value play and hands on learning and schedule this throughout our daily lessons and routines. At the beginning of the year, we settle into our school day with play and scaffolded social activities, providing students the opportunities to forge friendships and develop social skills to thrive at school. 

Our goal is for all students to feel happy, safe and comfortable at school, ready to learn. 

We know that settling into school routines can be difficult for students, particularly the adjustment to longer school days and learning. We provide students with plenty of opportunities for play, rest and snack times as they become familiar with school routines. 

We value a broad curriculum which includes many learning areas. We offer specialist subjects which include, Art, Physical Education, Health and Wellbeing, Music, Performing Arts, STEM and Library. We also teach Italian as a second language using an approach called Teachers as CoLearners.
