Purpose

Don’t you always hate it when you have the perfect bubble and it just bursts! Well, I know I do, which is why I am going to find a way to make square bubbles last longer. I have always wondered if I could form bubbles into different shapes. Now, I will finally get to make one myself. My partner is finding a way to make a square bubble and with her square bubble design, I will add ingredients to make the bubble last longer. I am very interested to find out more properties that cause a bubble to do what it does.

With the square bubble, I will try different mixtures to find the most long-lasting! Different ingredients, such as glycerin and corn syrup, make the soap thicker. So, I think the thicker the bubble the longer it will last. I believe that the glycerin will make the bubble last the longest. Bubbles will normally pop because the outside layer of water evaporates while glycerin delays the dehydration process. Which is why glycerin helps the bubble last longer. The water won’t evaporate as quickly with glycerin. I will also use corn syrup and other hand soaps or detergents as substitutes.

I am so excited to begin my research on square bubbles! I can’t wait to see what mixture makes a bubble last the longest. I think the best ingredient will be glycerin, but you never know which one will hold up and not burst first! My partner Lilly and I are going to enjoy this project and we can’t wait to share our results!
