I chose 3 things to see if they can make crystals. Pickling spice, cream of tartar, and alum powder the only thing that worked was the alum powder. What happened with the cream of tartar and pickling spice was they both came off of the egg when they submerged into the water and food dye. The alum powder actually stayed on the egg and stayed there for 15 hours. When I took the eggs of the water/food dye mixture the pickling spice and cream of tartar just fell off the egg and the glue was just wet and dry.
