Welcome to MA studies at UWS. On this page you will find some induction information for students joining:
The MA programmes within the Arts and Media Division also benefit from being part of the UWS Creative Media Academy (CMA), one of only 3 such institutions in Scotland to be endorsed as a centre of excellence by Creative Skillset. Part of the School of Business and Creative Industries, the CMA brings together students, staff and practitioners within the subject groupings of film, television, radio, music, performance, journalism and digital art.
Students are invited to get involved with a series of creative activities, screenings, masterclasses and professional practice sessions designed to both inspire and prepare students for the real world of creative industry employment. Masterclass sessions have included award-winning film and TV industry experts including Oscar nominees Gillian Berrie and David McKenzie (Sigma Films), James Gey-Rees (Producer of Senna), Tommy Gormley (First Assistant Director and Associate Producer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Iain Smith OBE (Mad Max: Fury Road, Children of Men, The Fifth Element).
Induction takes place in the first week of the academic term, Sept 28th. There is a variety of different induction elements during this week across the university. For course specific questions, please contact the Programme Leader.
