Shawarma Guys, a famous gastronomic business in San Diego’s culinary scene, deserved an outstanding building. Our journey to create this unique restaurant has been one of passion, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail. Located at 30th & Grape Street in the heart of South Park – San Diego, Shawarma Guys is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience. Our design philosophy centred on blending modern aesthetics to create a space that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Concept and Inspiration: Located on a busy corner and aligned with the City of San Diego’s intentions to promote human urban living through participative architecture, the inspiration came from a desire to craft a space that resonates with both locals and visitors. We drew upon San Diego's coastal charm and South Park’s bohemian energy, resulting in a design that feels fresh and inviting. The restaurant's layout encourages social interaction with a perimeter shared bar table while also providing intimate corners for a more private dining experience.
Furniture: Custom-made furniture was designed to accommodate all users comfortably within the limited space.
Outdoor Space: Most of the seating area is located on the open terrace at the second floor. Inspired by San Diego's beautiful weather, we created an expansive outdoor dining area featuring lush greenery and a mix of seating options, perfect for enjoying meals al fresco.
The journey to bring this project to life has been a labour of talent and love. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to ensure guests enjoy a casual yet distinctive dining experience—an experience best appreciated by visiting in person!
While our primary focus is on residential architecture, encompassing both single-family and multi-family, as well as commercial architecture within the hospitality and retail sectors, there are instances where the impetus for starting a new project is focused on satisfying the need of a special client, who desires to undertake something different from our typical industry and entrusts us to execute it, meaning that our focus is also on fostering strong connections and cultivating a loyal clientele.
We recognize that demonstrating our ability to embrace projects outside our typical scope is an opportunity to showcase our capability to thrive in unfamiliar scenarios. This approach underscores our versatility and willingness to venture into new areas, ensuring to meet the Client's needs and that we deliver results proficiently.
One of the key factors in enabling the Client to successfully operate a carwash lies in the design of traffic flow during peak hours, ensuring smooth manoeuvrability for users while reducing potential liability scenarios.
Located at the corner of Orange St & Sweetwater Rd, this exciting opportunity involves a Client, a long-standing and well-known local resident of National City (where this project is located), who requested us to analyze all relevant factors to maximize the value of her capital by exploring state and local requirements for the design of a multi-housing development of 22 apartments on the upper floors, with 5 Affordable Housing Units on the west side of the lot, and retail on the first floor, with a focus on promoting community-centric values.
Our façades are designed to engage with the public realm, keeping their "eyes" on the street and sidewalks. The residential units provide comfortable living spaces, complemented by an inviting rooftop deck for residents, while the commercial spaces are intended to support and foster local businesses. We have intentionally incorporated green spaces, walkability, and outdoor community zones to enhance livability and social interaction.
The residential component will help address local housing needs while fostering a vibrant urban lifestyle through modern, minimalistic architecture. Developments like this are designed to generate commercial opportunities, encouraging small businesses and local entrepreneurship to thrive at a neighborhood scale.
