Shawarma Guys, a famous gastronomic business in San Diego’s culinary scene, deserved an outstanding building. Our journey to create this unique restaurant has been one of passion, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail. Located at 30th & Grape Street in the heart of South Park – San Diego, Shawarma Guys is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience. Our design philosophy centred on blending modern aesthetics to create a space that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Concept and Inspiration: Located on a busy corner and aligned with the City of San Diego’s intentions to promote human urban living through participative architecture, the inspiration came from a desire to craft a space that resonates with both locals and visitors. We drew upon San Diego's coastal charm and South Park’s bohemian energy, resulting in a design that feels fresh and inviting. The restaurant's layout encourages social interaction with a perimeter shared bar table while also providing intimate corners for a more private dining experience.
Furniture: Custom-made furniture was designed to accommodate all users comfortably within the limited space.
Outdoor Space: Most of the seating area is located on the open terrace at the second floor. Inspired by San Diego's beautiful weather, we created an expansive outdoor dining area featuring lush greenery and a mix of seating options, perfect for enjoying meals al fresco.
The journey to bring this project to life has been a labour of talent and love. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to ensure guests enjoy a casual yet distinctive dining experience—an experience best appreciated by visiting in person!
To date, we have designed three carwashes for Genie Carwash, all of which have reported smooth operations during high-traffic periods, with customers finding the layouts intuitive and comfortable to navigate while using the facilities.
There are occasions when the impetus for initiating a new project stems from the needs of a particular client who seeks to undertake something beyond our usual scope. Such projects reflect the trust our clients place in us and highlight our commitment to building strong relationships and cultivating a loyal clientele.
We recognise that embracing projects outside our typical domain presents an opportunity to demonstrate our adaptability and ability to thrive in unfamiliar contexts. This approach underscores our versatility and willingness to venture into new areas, ensuring that we continue to meet our clients’ needs and deliver results with proficiency and precision.
A key factor in enabling our clients to successfully operate a carwash lies in the design of efficient traffic flow during peak hours — ensuring smooth maneuverability for users while mitigating potential liability scenarios.
Located at the corner of Orange St & Sweetwater Rd, this exciting opportunity involves a Client, a long-standing and well-known local resident of National City (where this project is located), who requested us to analyze all relevant factors to maximize the value of her capital by exploring state and local requirements for the design of a multi-housing development of 22 apartments on the upper floors, with 5 Affordable Housing Units on the west side of the lot, and retail on the first floor, with a focus on promoting community-centric values.
Our façades are designed to engage with the public realm, keeping their "eyes" on the street and sidewalks. The residential units provide comfortable living spaces, complemented by an inviting rooftop deck for residents, while the commercial spaces are intended to support and foster local businesses. We have intentionally incorporated green spaces, walkability, and outdoor community zones to enhance livability and social interaction.
The residential component will help address local housing needs while fostering a vibrant urban lifestyle through modern, minimalistic architecture. Developments like this are designed to generate commercial opportunities, encouraging small businesses and local entrepreneurship to thrive at a neighborhood scale.
