Greetings! I'm Mrs. Bishop, the counselor for students in grades 10–12. I have 19 years of experience working with high school students, including 14 years as a counselor at Arroyo Valley High School. I'm excited to be part of Virtual Academy and look forward to building strong relationships with our students and families.

I was born and raised in San Bernardino and graduated from San Bernardino High School. As the first person in my family to attend college, I began my educational journey at San Bernardino Valley College before transferring to California State University, San Bernardino, where I earned degrees in Psychology and Human Development. I later completed the Multiple Subject Credential program at CSUSB and spent six years teaching in a neighboring district. After returning to school, I earned a Master of Arts in Education and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the University of Redlands.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially visiting the beach or anywhere near the water. I have two sons and a daughter, enjoy watching basketball with my boys, and love traveling to Northern California to visit family whenever I can.

As your counselor, my goal is to support students in their academic, social-emotional, and college and career development. I am here to partner with students, families, staff, and our community to help every student feel supported and successful throughout their high school journey.
