The mission of the San Gorgonio English Department is to support the school's mission in creating responsible citizens who are ready for college, career, and life. We are also dedicated to increasing every student's capacity to read critically and communicate effectively using speaking and writing skills. 

As skilled educators, we have dedicated ourselves to preparing our students to achieve these goals by boasting the district's second highest state testing scores in ELA among all high schools.

This year we are focusing on the following goals:

• Increase competency and mindset towards reading literature among students

• Develop Informational Reading skills to help them in other areas of study

• Integrate digital literacy across all grades to promote readiness for an ever changing world

To meet these goals we invite you to take an active part in promoting consistent attendance, reading outside of school requirements, and staying in contact with your student's teachers as needed.
