Welcome to Palm Avenue Elementary's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

At Palm Avenue Elementary, we implement the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework in partnership with the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) to provide targeted assistance to students in need. MTSS is a proactive and data-driven approach designed to identify struggling students early and intervene effectively to promote their success.

What is MTSS?
MTSS focuses on supporting the "whole child." While academic growth is a central priority, MTSS also addresses other critical areas such as:

• Behavioral Support: Helping students develop positive behaviors and coping strategies.

• Social-Emotional Learning: Building emotional awareness, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills.

• Attendance: Ensuring students are engaged and attending school regularly, which is essential for academic success.
