Mental Health

The Bowen Center partners with the Empowerment Zone to provide student mental health assistance services to support a variety of challenges. See your school social worker to request a referral.

Weekend Meals

Cultivate Culinary is helping reduce food insecurity among Empowerment Zone families. 250 meals are sent home weekly to EZ families. To request meals, contact your school social worker.

Wi-Fi Access

Citywide Classroom provides wi-fi hotspots to qualified families, ensuring internet access for homework. To request a hotspot, contact your school social worker.

Simply call or text 988 if someone you know is experiencing a mental health or suicide crisis.


FJC

The Family Justice Center serves as a one-stop help center for victims of domestic/family violence, sexual assault and stalking.

FBNI

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has a number of programs to help families fight food & nutritional insecurity.


La Casa 

La Casa de Amistad is a youth & community center that seeks to empower the Latino/Hispanic community.


A City program the provides free lead testing for children to prevent lead poisoning.


SCAN

SCAN provides assistance for families experiencing personal or financial crisis.


Trustee Office

The Portage Township Trustee Office contributes financial assistance to Township families.


YSB

The Youth Service Bureau hosts SAFE sites for youth all over the city. Text the word "SAFE" and location to 44357 for immediate help.
