Texas ACE Overview

The SBCISD After School Program has been serving the children of our schools since 1999 and has been funded by federal, state, and local funds. Throughout this time, state requirements have shifted from general enrichment activities to an academically focused program. The program is an effective way to provide a safe haven for the children in our community. The hours they spend in the program gives them an opportunity to further engage in academic, enrichment, and social activities. Each campus has a site based committee that evaluates the schools’ needs and makes recommendations to select students and incorporate academic learning classes based on their need. 

Texas ACE aims to improve academic performance/grades, school attendance, positive  behavior, and student engagement by providing students with a safe place to go during non-school hours for extended learning and enrichment activities. 

Texas ACE Empowers students to change realize their potential and change the world!

Every child, regardless of economic status, race, or gender, needs equitable access to academic and non academic learning experiences outside of the school day in order to succeed in college, career and life. 

San Benito ACE is funded by a grant from the US Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.

Our ACE Goal is to stimulate lifetime learners.

School only occupies about one-third of a child’s life. Our program provides a safe, reliable place for students to go the rest of the time—so they can stay on track in school and in life. It’s a place to hang out with friends and get involved in sports, clubs, and other activities.

Students get homework help, personalized academic support, and unique opportunities to work in teams and develop leadership skills. 

Texas ACE includes lots of hands-on and project-based learning to bridge what students are taught in the classroom with what they experience in the real world. Students enjoy it so much, they recruit friends to join!
