internet access
Pencil and paper (if you choose to take notes)
On your child's Edgenuity homepage there will be boxes for each of your child's courses. If you click the purple circle in the top of each box it will take you to that course map. This shows you what you need to complete for the day. Each course and each day is completely mapped out. Click the bottom icon (looks like a bar graph) on the left side, this gives you the progress overview of the course. It will tell you the percentage completed and if your child is on target. You need to do this for each course.
Elective courses will look a bit different than core courses as the elective material is never ending. We suggest that your student spend about 20 minutes per elective each day. Progress reports will not show an end date for Elective courses.
To help you understand the Edgenuity progress reports a bit better…
% (Time) - The percent complete weighted by time (how much time the student has spent)
% (Count) - The percent complete by number of assignments completed.
RG - The relative grade which assumes that the user will receive zeros for any incomplete activities.
OG - The overall grade for only work that the student has completed.
AG - The actual grade based on the overall grade in relation to time elapsed.
Target Completion % is how much the student has completed so far
Then it should list how many quizzes, tests, and assignments the student has completed
When looking at grades you need to be looking at your overall grade for a course. The overall grade is the accurate grade you have at this time.
Yes, your grades are accurate. Other than some assignments might need to be graded by a facilitator, but those do not count against you.
If you are concerned about a certain class grade, please go to that class and look at your various scores. If there is concern about a given grade, please email your facilitator and they can look into it. Make sure to include the class and assignment name in the email.
You are still responsible for your day's work.
You do not need to call into school to report your appointment or vacation.
If you do not log in at all that day you will be counted as absent that day.
Communicate with your facilitator what is going on but know you are still responsible for your day’s work.
You will be responsible for making up the progress and time in your virtual classes.
If you are on vacation, you will need to continue working on your classes when you are able, the same as if you were in classes in the building.
Shutdown the computer and restart it. Do not just close the lid that does not restart.
Make sure you log out of Edgenuity and log back in.
If it continues to say incorrect password, click the forgot password link and it will send you an email to reset it.
Reset password as first initial, last name, ID number (ex jdoe1234)
You will need to log 20 minutes a day, 100 minutes a week.
You will receive 2 retakes.
After your 4th attempt to receive additional retakes you will be prompted to start that lesson over.
You will then be able to try the quiz again after reviewing the lesson.
Make sure you slow down while taking the quizzes. And use your notes and resources.
Take notes, good notes, while you review the section.
The facilitators will be watching for retakes and such and will work to take care of them throughout the day.
The facilitators will be watching for locked quizzes or tests and opening them up throughout the day.
Things will not be opened up immediately, please be patient and move on to a different course and return to said course later to finish out the remaining time.
Quizzes, tests, and exams are opened during school hours.
It’s not necessary to work ahead, it is paced for you for the semester.
Each course has the tasks laid out for the day, along with an estimate of time each task should take.
You should only work ahead if you plan to miss for an appointment or vacation.
Once all tasks assigned for the day are completed you can logout of Edgenuity for the day.
Yes, you may work additional time outside of the school hours. If you come to a quiz, test, or exam that is locked you will not be able to move on in that course. Your facilitators are available during the school day hours only.
Please understand that you are expected to work during the school hours daily. Additional time does not count towards your required school hours.
If it is a content question, then go back and review the videos, personal notes, and/or lectures to find your answer. Do not wait for your facilitator to respond, but instead move on to the next subject. You can always come back later.
Questions will be answered by facilitators between the hours of 7:15-3:15
Unfortunately, your project cannot be graded through email. It can only be graded through Edgenuity. You'll need to go to the Help Center under the Support tab. The Help Center has answers to all kinds of questions including how to upload and download assignments.
