Ms. Pruden was born in Huntington Beach, California, earned her BA in English Literature from UCLA, her teaching credential from UCI, and her MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, Irvine.

She has taught in Orange County since 2004 and has been at Godinez since 2008. Ms. Pruden has been a national reader for the AP English Language exam in 2008 and 2020 and has served as the department chairperson at Godinez Fundamental High School since 2014.
