Q: How did students read all twelve books in four months?

A: Students were committed to reading one book every one or two weeks until all books were read.

Q: Was it hard to read all the books?

A: It wasn't too hard because if we got stuck or had any questions we could discuss these together during our meetings, but it was challenging sometimes because we had to make time to read the books. 

Q: What is BOB?

A: This is an acronym for "Battle of the Books"

Q: Is BOB fun?

A: Yes! We met twice weekly and discussed what we read and made many connections to other books and with one another. We also had snacks and played comprehension games to win prizes!

Mrs. Giorgio, Mrs. Cortes, and Mrs. Morrison

Q: How was the competition?

A:  Competition day was exciting and fun! We were able to compete against other schools and meet other students who read all of the same books! This was a great experience because it was all about Reading and Comprehension!

Q: How can I participate?

A: You can begin now by reading daily and logging your minutes on BeanStack and/or taking AR Quizzes! The more you read, the better prepared you will be for our next BOB competition! Students need to attend informational meetings held in October/November 2024

Q: What grades can participate?

A: The BOB Team consists of 4th and 5th grade students. The Team may start with 30+ members, but Coaches will eventually select 5 students to compete.
