The Mendez Fundamental Intermediate Counseling Department facilitates student development in three broad areas:

Personal/Social Development

School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.  

• Individual and small group counseling

• Crisis intervention counseling

• Conflict resolution and peer mediation

• Collaboration with families/teachers/administrators/community

• Referral to outside agency

• Advocacy for individual students

Mendez Fundamental Intermediate Counselors deliver a comprehensive developmental program based on the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) National Model.
