The school counselors at MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate School believe in a future in which all of our students develop their unique talents, knowledge and skills to pursue and achieve personal goals for success in college and career. Our students are able to adapt, advocate for self and others, and show respect and empathy for all in their communities and in interactions in the digital world. Through equitable access to opportunities, rigorous learning environments, collaboration with others and strong accountability, all students will show responsibility, take pride in their accomplishments, and demonstrate healthy habits as they become leaders and productive citizens in an ever-changing 21st century world and workforce. Our students have a growth mindset and commit to being life-long learners.

Our Mission Statement
The mission of the School Counseling Program at MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate is to engage and equip all students with well-rounded learning experiences to develop the attitude, skills and knowledge necessary for academic achievement, personal and social growth, and success in college and career. Guided by high expectations and accountability, our goal is to advocate for and provide equity, access, and success for all students through a data-driven, comprehensive school counseling program to ensure all students graduate high school prepared with a post-secondary plan to pursue their life aspirations in order to make positive contributions and become productive citizens in a global society.

Be available to meet students' academic, post-secondary, and social-emotional needs.
Work together to develop, implement, review and adjust program goals to strive for continuous improvement in student services and contribute to student achievement so that students are able to academically succeed and plan properly for their post-secondary ambitions.
Focus on offering program curriculum that is assessed with pre/post-tests, perception surveys, result reports, and process data to help monitor the effectiveness of program delivery.
Commit to being a data driven department that adjusts its services based on the needs of all stakeholders and the continual improvement of Counseling Services.
