Biography

Childhood

I was born in Morelia Michoacán, Mexico. I am the second child from a family of five siblings. I came to the United States at the age of nine. I grew up in the city of Santa Ana. Coming to the United States was not easy, especially learning the language at a very late start.

Experience

Teaching has been in my heart for many years. So, when I was working on my teaching credential, the excitement to teach took me to work as a substitute teacher in the city of Fullerton. For two years, I gained some experience, learning from my mistakes, and learning from great teachers that I substituted. After I had finished my teaching credential, I came back to Santa Ana, to teach as a substitute teacher. Working in Santa Ana has been a joy. I have learned from my colleagues and excellent staff personnel the love and passion for what we called our children. In 2005, I was giving the opportunity to start working as a fourth-grade teacher at Jackson Elementary School. I stayed at Jackson until 2017. Afterward, I begin a new journey at Jefferson Elementary in August 2017 as a third-grade Dual Teacher. Teaching dual has been a great satisfaction.

Passion for Teaching

Becoming a teacher has been the best decision I have ever made; being a teacher has been a fantastic experience. When I was in high school, my sister and I did a lot of volunteer work for the city of Santa Ana, especially in the area of Parks and Recreations. I remember how much I enjoy helping my community. However, it wasn’t until I volunteer for the Junior Achievement Program, that I discovered my passion for teaching. I love the smile of a child when he or she is learning. The best part of teaching is helping a student reach a learning goal and know how much they have worked to achieve that goal– that is priceless.

Yo nací en Morelia Michoacán, México. Yo soy la segunda hija de una familia de cinco hijos. A mí me trajeron a los Estados Unidos a la edad de nueve años. Yo crecí en la ciudad de Santa Ana. Venir a los Estados Unidos no fue fácil, especialmente aprender un idioma a una edad ya grande.

Experiencias

Ser maestro y enseñar ha estado muy dentro de mi corazón por muchos años. Cuando yo estaba trabajando en mi credencial para titularme como maestra, la emoción de enseñar me llevo a trabajar como maestra suplente en la ciudad de Fullerton. Por dos años, pude obtener algo de experiencia, ya que estuve aprendiendo de mis errores y de grandes maestras(os) los cuales yo suplía. Después de terminar con mi credencial de maestra, regrese a trabajar a la ciudad de Santa Ana, también como maestra suplente. Trabajar en Santa Ana ha sido un verdadero júbilo, ya que he aprendido de mis colegas y personal de las escuelas el amor y la pasión que se les tiene a lo que nosotros llamamos nuestros niños. En el 2005, se me dio la oportunidad de trabajar como maestra de cuarto grado, en la escuela Jackson. Tuve la fortuna de enseñar en esta escuela por más de once años. He sido maestra de quinto grado por tres años y maestra de cuarto por ocho años. En el 2017, empeze a enseñar en la escuela Jefferson. Hasta la fecha de hoy, he tenido la dicha de trabajar en el programa Dual, el cual me llena de mucha satisfación.

La Pasión por la Enseñanza

Haber tomado la decision de enseñar, ha sido una de las mejores decisiones que yo he tomado en mi vida, ya que ha sido una maravillosa experiencia. Cuando yo estaba en la preparatoria, a mi hermana y a mí nos gustaba mucho ser voluntarias. Nosotros hacíamos trabajos voluntarios para la ciudad de Santa Ana, en las áreas de parques y recreaciones. Yo me acuerdo mucho como disfruta ayudar a mi comunidad. Sin embargo, no fue hasta que fui voluntaria del Programa Junior Achievement, que es cuando descubrí mi pasión por el arte de la enseñanza. A mí me gusta mucho ver a un niño sonreír cuando está aprendiendo. La mejor parte de ser maestra es ayudar a un niño alcanzar su meta de aprendizaje y saber cuánto ha luchado por conseguir esa meta, para mí eso no tiene precio.
