Rules Guidelines & Helpful Info

  • Parking is only allowed by the cabins when loading/unloading cars. Other times in an effort to preserve the natural environment and fire safety lanes, Nissokone asks that cars remain parked in the designated parking areas near the office. Any other parking near the dining hall blocks deliveries and can be a safety concern.

  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, tobacco and firearms are prohibited on camp property.

  • Smoking is not permitted.

  • Please wear your name tag all week. It is a wonderful kindness to all of us, but especially important for our new campers.

  • Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 7 am and from 3:15 to 4:15 pm. Please be considerate early in the morning and late at night inside or near cabins since people may be sleeping. Inside of Crow’s Nest and Dining you do not have to be as quiet during these times since people aren’t sleeping nearby.

  • Ice is available in dining. It is free.

  • There’s a small fridge in the dining hall for our use. There is also a fridge in the nurses’ building. The Hospitality fridge is reserved for Hospitality.

  • If a large group makes plans that mean missing a meal, please let the kitchen staff know.

  • Wifi is available in the camp store/internet cafe, which is open at posted times throughout the stay.

  • Outgoing US mail can be sent from office.

  • Only swim with a YMCA Staff lifeguard present on camp property.

  • Camp sponsored activities have to have trained camp counselors there.

  • Please report any breakage, damage of facilities or hazards to the YMCA camp staff immediately.

  • Firewood is provided at approved fire rings.
