About Me
Welcome to my classroom page. I am thrilled to share my background and my passion for empowering students through mathematics and technology.
Before I entered the classroom, I spent many years in the business sector working within the training departments of Fortune 500 companies. This experience shaped my belief that education should provide students with practical and real world skills that offer a competitive edge in college and their future careers.
My journey in education began at Monticello High School, where I taught mathematics for two years. In 2003, I joined the team here at Saugerties High School. Currently, I teach Algebra and Applied Geometry, and I am actively helping to develop our school Computer Science Department. Within that department, I teach Java Programming, a course through which students can earn four credits from Ulster County Community College, as well as Emerging Technologies for eighth grade students.
I am always pushing the boundaries of technology to enhance what students can achieve in my classroom. My teaching philosophy is centered on the value of students taking personal responsibility for their work; however, I am always eager to partner with parents to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
I look forward to a successful year of learning and growth together.
