Dear Families,

We had a short but busy week! Thank you to all of our volunteer firefighters for visiting us!

There is no school on Friday for Superintendent’s Conference Day.

We will be browsing at the BOOK FAIR on Monday. We will be able to purchase books on Tuesday!

It is getting near time to plan our Halloween celebration! We will be having a party after the parade. If you would like to contribute to the party, please let  me know! Donations of snacks, mini water bottles and juice pouches would be greatly appreciated! Thank you to Carmella for bringing in plates and napkins!

Dear Families,

It was great to meet with so many of you for Parent Conferences! If I didn’t get a chance to connect with you last night, I will be in touch in the future!

This week we worked on:

Fundations: blending sounds to form words, sentence dictation, trick words (a, the, and, is, his).

Writing: We used the days of the week to organize our writing. We used the book Cookie’s Week as a mentor text.

Story Elements: We discussed character and setting.

Science: We studied leaves and learned about why they change color.

S.S: We are learning about Fire Safety in preparation for Fire Prevention week. The firefighters will visit on Thursday. We will also have our Evacuation Drill on Thursday.

There will be no school for students on Monday and Friday.
