Our Classroom promise
Homework:
I do not assign any homework during the year. I know that my students work really hard during school hours, so I think it's important that they get to be kids and play afterschool. On occasion, students might not finish all their classwork while they are still learning to manage their time. I will label and send home any unfinished classwork to be completed and returned when possible.
After School help:
I will send home a permission slip with information for after school help when available for your child.
Supporting your child at home
Reviewing your child's Trick Words, (make it fun: memory, go fish with trick words, etc.)
Read with your child and ask questions about what was read (i.e. who are the characters, where is the setting, what is the problem and solution, list the important events, retell the story in their own words...etc.)
They can log into Literacy Footprints to read books. Your child can find the Literacy Foot Prints log on in their Clever account, labeled as Digital reader with a blue book icon.
Read the books sent home weekly in their reading bag together and log them in their reading log to earn a reward.
Have them work on theiri-Ready Math and Reading Path. Your child can find their i-Ready Math and Reading Path if they log onto their Clever account, it is labeled as i-Ready with a multi color cube. .
