In addition to meeting one period every day for class, students meet an additional one period every other day (ACE or BDF) for a laboratory period.  Students will perform a wide variety of lab activities throughout the year to supplement their Living Environment class.  Students will perform "hands-on" lab activities using various techniques and equipment and develop laboratory skills for future science classes.  Students will practice skills such as making observations and collecting data, graphing data, interpreting data, analyzing data, drawing conclusions and justifying using evidence, making predictions, suggesting ideas for further research, designing scientific experiments, modeling, etc.  

NYS mandates that students perform 20 "hands-on" laboratory activities with satisfactory documentation in order to be eligible to sit for the Regents exam in June.  Students will meet that NYS lab hour requirement during their lab class.  In addition, their quarterly lab grade will be calculated into their Living Environment class quarterly average.  Students will receive an "S" or "U" for their progress report and quarterly report  grades.

• Each student has their own personal number and spot.  These will be cross-checked during attendance.
