Google Meet is the video conferencing program we use to hold video chats with our students. This is where students can check in with their teacher to ask questions or get more help with their learning. We will also utilize Google Meet for our weekly Morning Meetings on Mondays during Remote Learning.
Expectations:
Be on time
Be respectful when learning, speaking, and writing in the chat box
Keep your sound on mute until you are asked to speak. Raise your hand if you have something to share!
Turn your video off if you need to do something that you don't want everyone to see (like going to the bathroom)
Pick a good spot for you to learn in your home and stay in that one spot while we are on Google Meet
Do not take pictures or video of the meeting
Try your best
Check your work for accuracy by reading it over one more time before turning it in
Share your work with your classroom teacher so she can grade it
If you are stuck, email your teacher for help or ask a parent
When your child is feeling stuck, encourage them to try these things:
take a deep breath (do some belly breaths, lazy 8 breaths)
take a break
skip the part you're stuck on an come back to it
do something in the activity that you already know how to do
after they complete a portion of the task, let them have a play break or another type of break
encourage them to read the directions, or watch the video(s) again
finally, if none of these things work, have your child email their teacher for help
This challenge is teaching me:
that I am brave
how to be more flexible
how to take better care of my feelings
how to be more responsible
that I am still lovable and important, no matter what
how to find solutions
I may not be able to control this situation but I can choose how to respond
