Rising Tide Pathways
The CHS Rising Tide Pathways Program combines exploration, knowledge and experience to enable personal and academic growth for students as they explore and develop their own unique goals for the future. A pathway is a suggested series of courses and educational opportunities that can help students to prepare to pursue their goals.
The CHS Rising Tide Pathway Programs provides:
A suggested inventory of courses offered at CHS that have been designated by field professionals and teachers as aligning with the skills and knowledge pertaining to a career sector.
Education that includes local employment information, training requirements and educational opportunities.
Opportunities to connect with mentors, professionals and businesses in our region to learn more about a career of interest.
Opportunities to earn licenses, certifications or college credits while l at CHS.
Opportunities to conduct internships, independent studies and experiential learning
CHS Rising Tide General Pathway Information :
Pathway participation has no prerequisites and is available to all students that choose to engage.
Taking part in a Pathway is optional. Students may choose to take a new Pathway at any time through meeting with their school counselor.
Students can choose to earn a Rising Tide Pathway graduation recognition. This is not a requirement of pathway participation. To earn recognition, students must fulfill all of the Pathway requirements.
CHS Rising Tide Pathway Suggestions:
Meet the CHS Graduation Standards.
Indicate your intended Pathway to your school counselor.
Complete 4-5 credits in your intended Pathway.
Take a minimum of 1 Pathway-related Cooperative Ed or Experiential Learning Opportunity (ELO).
Cooperative Ed options include:
Early College in the High School, Early College Online or Early College on Campus OR any career credential course.
ELO options include:
Job shadow, service work, internship, industry interviews and tours, project-based research, mentorship or leadership, working alongside a field professional mentor.
Getting started on a CHS Rising Tide Pathway:
Meet with your school counselor to talk about your Pathway decision. They will indicate your choice and help you to follow the specific Pathway recommendations.
Use the included course plans as you select your classes.
Join in the CHS related activities to increase your understanding of the careers in your selected pathway.
Meet with the ELO Coordinator to talk about your Pathway goals if an ELO is part of your intended plan.
