7th and 8th Grade Social Studies
Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my web site. Hopefully, you will find it informative and easy to navigate. 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at the Gilmanton School focuses on helping students to develop academic and social skills, traits, and dispositions that will facilitate their success in high school and at the post-secondary level. Chronologically, the 7th grade focuses on the period from the end of the American Civil War through World War I and the 1920's. The 8th grade picks up where they left off the previous year looking at the 1930's and the causes of WWII up to the present. Additionally, students will be engaged in units on geography, civics, and economics. This curriculum will be addressed through several standards based on the C3 social studies standards: Content, Use of Primary and Secondary Sources, and Communication of Conclusions.
This website is intended to provide students, parents, and community members with a basic overview of 7th and 8th grade Social Studies. Class announcements, assignments, project directions, rubrics and so forth are posted on the google classroom, for each grade level, to which all students have access. The 7th and 8th grade homework page is updated daily and can be found via the link below. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns by contacting the school at 603-364-5681 or via email at zbabcock@sau79.org.
