The class is at 93 charms earned so far. They have until Friday, April 23 to earn 100 charms. If they can do this, then they will have a root beer float party! In the past week, several students have worked incredibly hard to earn more charms. Seamus, Willow, and Bentley have studied every day to earn more than 1 charm in a week. Other students leading the charge are Kaylin and Jocelyn, both earing a 12 charm this week. Both girls earned all charms, 0-11, several weeks ago. Way to go, girls! And let's not forget the rest of the class, accepting the recent challenge to earn 1 charm per week. We're almost there.

Kaylin has been very successful with using the electronic flash cards. After a few rounds of repetition, the numbers "sink" in. Of course, I had her go back and try some old tables again. These are not the old days of remembering spelling words for Friday and then forgetting them. We will continue to review.

After listening to the Lorax, students drew the Truffula tree. Foam dics were labeled and added as flowers or fruit. Students practiced multiplication while flipping the discs to reveal numbers. The greatest product won the round.
