Summary:

On December fifth, Christopher Columbus made landfall on the island of Cuba, the southern tip to be exact. And named it Juana. While he was there he met the locals and discovered tobacco and corn and hammocks. His mission to find Great Khan ended up being a failure, but he “discovered” so much more on the island of Cuba.
