Dear Young Robert,
I am writing you from the future per request of your older self about climate change and global warming. My advice for young Robert is that you should have released less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. You could have done this by using less fuel by bicycling or walking rather than riding in a car. This would release less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere because there would be less fuel being burned creating exhaust, producing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Additionally, you could have released less carbon dioxide by trying to negotiate with your mother not to get the air conditioning unit when she wanted or tell her to turn it on less. This would release less carbon because less fuel is being burned creating carbon dioxide. All of this techniques would have resulted in you releasing less carbon. If you had walked and biked more it could have helped the scientists have 2 more minutes to figure out a solution. If you had not had a conditioning unit it could have helped the scientists have 2 more minutes to figure out a solution. That would be a total of 4 minutes. If you were to do this every year it would add up more and more. You should know that every bit counts when it comes to global warming and climate change. I hope you take my ideas into consideration and think about your choices.
Fortunately, your future self has realized that global warming is having a negative effect on the environment. He has realized that there is no snow in Rhode Island and that the climate of states is becoming warmer. For example, future Robert does not turn on the air conditioning unit unless it is above 80 degrees no matter how much his students are screaming at him. This is a very good way for future Robert to help save the earth and stop global warming.
Sincerely,
Adia Madden (your future student)
