Columbus begins his journey back home with the Santa Maria sinking. After this tragedy, he starts to hear about Cannibalism on the island. He starts to get worried. He has one ship left. All of a sudden he sees the Pinta out in the distance. They head of with 2 ships and crew. They are starting to approach the Azores when this horrible storm comes and separates the 2 remaining ships. They are all alone. The Nina(the ship Columbus is on) heads towards the Azores which is owned by Portugal, Spain arch enemy.

House of Representatives considers to change Columbus Day to Ingenuous Peoples Day.
People are debating on weather to change Columbus Day into Ingenuous Peoples Day. I think that is should not be renamed. Renaming this holiday is basically rewriting history. Yes, Columbus did all of these horrible things to the Natives. But, he did return all of his crew to Spain. He brought back stuff to Spain that they have never seen. He showed the Natives taught them things that they have never seen like hammocks. That was something that helped them a lot. He made two sides of the world, begin to learn and except each other. He also started the Age of Discovery. Those things are many good things that he did. So, yes. He did take advantage of the Natives and their knowledge. But the things that he was able to pull off and the things he did. Were amazing and meant so much to the world now. This is why I think that we should not change the name of this holiday.
