Dear Young Robert,
The troposphere is a part of the atmosphere. About all the water vapor and the dust particles from the rock cycle are found here so a lot of the clouds are here. The bottom of the troposphere is called the boundary layer that is right above the earth's surface. The part of the troposphere over ice or water, the winds are smoother than over mountains and forests. It is the lowest "sphere" of the atmosphere. About 75% of the atmosphere is in the troposphere. Also all weather occurs in the troposphere and it is very wet in the sphere which makes it the wettest sphere. Which also means that the majority of the climate is in the troposphere too. It is thickest around the equator and thinnest at the poles. Weather is the conditions of the atmosphere at a given time and place. Examples of weather are snow, rain, sun, humidity, hail, cloud cover etc. A way to see weather that happened many years ago when people did not record the weather is through the rings of very old trees. Something in the rings can tell scientists what the weather was like that year. Climate is the conditions of the atmosphere at a given region or area over a long period of time. It changes a lot not always in a good way. Climate Change is the reason that now in Rhode Island there is only one ski area to ski at rather than 4. The earth is warming in a result that the snow does not stay or it doesn't snow at 3 of the ski areas anymore. My advise to you Young Robert is to keep a diary and write in it every day, you don't have to write a lot but write about the weather. Then since you wrote about it the weather everyday you can look back years later and see how the weather and climate has changed over many years. Two famous people Lewis and Clark that went on an expedition and recorded the weather each day. They used symbols like; f. means fair, c. means cloudy, r. means rain, s. means snow, h. means hail, t. means thunder, l. means lightning. A man named Thomas Jefferson also recorded information about weather and climate but he did it a differently than Lewis and Clark. He studied rain fall, great winds, temperatures, and related biology to flowers and the migration of birds to better understand his research.

The red line is the temperature, the black lines are air pressure and the blue line with arrows is the wind speed. Also the blue bars in a bar graph form is the chance of precipitation.
This also shows weather. It is on rainfall. The different colors are the different amounts of rainfall
This shows climate change. The 1st image is in 1999 and the 2nd one is in 2016. This shows global warming with sea ice.
This shows that the world is warming because there are a lot of areas that have a record high or above average which shows those places are warming due to global warming.
These maps are showing the climate in the month of May. The first map is in 2019 and the second one is 2006 both in the state of Pennsylvania. You would need way more than 13 years to see climate change because the climate does not change that quickly it takes more time then that to change. These maps show the precipitation amounts in the state int he different years.
