Location in Geography
Location is one of the types of geography. This is one of 5 of them. Location geography mostly covers where and how far an object is from something or another object, for example, the white pine tree is right near the high school yurt and across the tree on the other side of the fence. Location Geography answers your question of where is that object and what direction it’s in or coordinate in the world it is located in. In order to measure location, you should use a compass and distance. Another way to measure is to use latitude and longitude. When you are marking the latitude and longitude always remember to write down the latitude first. Hopkinton New Hampshire is between 43rd degree north coordinate and the 44th-degree coordinate and is about 72 degrees west on the coordinate plane. North of Hopkinton is Webster and Warner, East is Concord, South is Weare and Dunbarton, and East is Henniker.
Special and Different
So there are two types of geography in the special and different categories. There are physical types of things then there a cultural types of things. Physical geography is like rivers, trees, rocks, and wild animals. So I am going to explain and name some types of physical and cultural geography.
Our town Hopkinton New Hampshire has lots of examples of physical geography. Lots of lakes, ponds, rivers, hills, trees, rocks, and lots of interesting climates change throughout the year. The Contoocook River is one of the examples. The Contoocook River runs through lots of towns in New Hampshire. The Contoocook river goes into the Merrimack River. Also, another example is the rock walls and lots of loose rock we have in Hopkinton and Contoocook. There are lots of rock walls that are used for making properties.
Also, we have lots of buildings and houses and bridges that represent our town. First off we have two villages. The Hopkinton village has an original cracker barrel. The town hall and one of the old churches in our town. Now moving to the Contoocook village. First, we have our covered bridge which is very historic and is one of the oldest bridges still standing in the united states. We also have a church in Contoocook. If you go a little bit out of town we have the town library. Also at the library is some of our sports fields. Not to forget we have the manmade dam. The dam in Contoocook was built to prevent giant floods to stop happening in the middle of town. We also have a Contoocook creamery farm. This pacific farm is a cow farm and where our town gets our milk. Another cool fact about the farm is that there was a t.v. a show based on the farm.
