About us

Who are we?

Michele Bohlman is the Library Assitant. Michelle Marino is the Librarian and Digital Learning Specialist.

When are we open?

We are open from 8:00 -2:35. We are open during recess and lunchtime (if needed). Although the librarians have recess and lunch duties during that time, so the library is only open upon special request during lunch periods.

What do we have to offer?

The Harold Martin Library has a wide variety of magazines, fiction, and nonfiction books, with over 12,000 copies in our collection. We have special sections dedicated to graphic novels, Ladybug Book award nominees, beginning chapter books, and everybody picture books in addition to a genrefied chapter book section. Before COVID-times we had a makerspace area for creative exploration. We are hoping we can bring that back soon! The library serves approximately 300 students in grades PK-3rd grade. Staffed with a full-time Librarian/Digital Learning Specialist and a full-time Library Assistant, we operate on a fixed schedule. Students visit the library once a week for a library lesson and to check out their books.

How many books can students check out?

Preschool students may sign out one book to bring to their classroom. Kindergarten students start out the year borrowing one book and progress to borrowing two books if they are ready later in the year. First through third-grade students may sign out up to three books at a time. Students are encouraged to sign out at least one book that they can read on their own.

Where are we?

We are located on the second floor of the building, up the stairs from the Preschool room.
