Some special things about Hopkinton are you can go skating on Kimball Pond then walk a few feet and get something to eat at The Lake House Tavern. There are a lot of small businesses in Hopkinton as well. For example, Colonial, a small grocery and pharmacy store close to the middle/high school. Or there is a place called The Cracker Barrell, a convenient store a few doors down from the Town Hall. Mr. Mikes will provide you with more gas for your car to keep driving around town, and more gas for you with a variety of snacks inside. Across from Mr. Mikes, you will find small shops to buy a souvenir or gift. For Example, Blue Indigo sells small articles of clothing, jewelry, and more! It is not very common to have a village within a town, but here in Hopkinton we have just that. It's called Contoocook Village. Hopkinton and Contoocook are a great place to explore when on vacation, whether in Winter, Fall, or Summer, with historical sites, foliage, small shops, and don't forget the food!
Each season is unique to Hopkinton. Spring is usually fairly muddy and on the colder side. But summer is hot and perfect for a dip in the Hopkinton Lake. Towards the end of autumn is when the foliage is breathtaking but the cold air will make you think it's winter already! Winter in Hopkinton is very white and FREEZING, so bundle up in cozy clothes. When it's warm outside, you can go to the Contoocook river and go for a swim there as well. You can go up North to the Basin in the Fall and look at the beautiful foliage and possibly have a drink in the crystal clear streams. Every season has an impact on the people of Hopkinton whether it's making us swim in rivers, gaze at the warm colors of fall, or dress cozy in our winter suits.
