The town of Hopkinton is in New Hampshire. It is located in Merrimack County. To the North of Hopkinton is Webster, to the East is Concord, Manchester is to the South, and to the west of Hopkinton is Henniker. Hopkinton is about a twenty minute drive to the state's capital, Concord, and about a ninety minute drive to Boston, one of the largest cities in the United States. Hopkinton Middle High School’s absolute location is 43 degrees, 13 minutes, 49 seconds North and 71 degrees, 43 minutes, 08 seconds West in sexigesimal and 43.203509 degrees and -71.718966 degrees in decimal degree and 416 feet of elevation for both.
Special and Different Physical Aspects of Hopkinton NH
Hopkinton has many special and different physical features. One of Hopkinton’s main features is the Contoocook River. Some more are the lakes and ponds; some of the most prominent are Kimball Pond and Kimball Lake. When walking around Hopkinton you will notice there are a lot of loose stones and rocks on the ground; there are also stones buried in the ground all over. Another feature is the many hills in Hopkinton, including Briar Hill, Gould Hill, and Putney Hill. Trees you can find in Hopkinton include apple trees which are not originally from New Hampshire but now can be found in many places around the world along with Hopkinton. White Pine trees can be found here, as well as maple trees. Red oak is one tree new to Hopkinton and has not been here long enough to know to lose its leaves for the winter. There are some coyotes in the woods here, and we also have a lot of turkeys in Hopkinton. One interesting thing about Hopkinton is its unique climate; it has long cold winters and beautiful summers and is called Zone 5b by the US Department of Agriculture.
Special and Different Cultural Aspects of Hopkinton NH
Hopkinton has a great school system with three schools, Harold Martin, Maple Street, and Hopkinton Middle High School. The schools in Hopkinton have school sports teams making students able to sign up for sports like Cross Country, Nordic, Soccer, Track, and basketball. There are a lot of old buildings in Hopkinton like houses and churches. One of the churches here is St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. More things that are in Hopkinton are farms and the town library. There are also a few parks here. One thing that is a really important part of Hopkinton is the multiple covered bridges. Another really important aspect are all the stone walls spread across the town. Something else you can find here is dams. Hopkinton is a town with very little chain restaurants; the only one here at the moment is the newly opened Dunkin Donuts.
