Relative location refers to the position of a place or based on the location of other places. In Hopkinton you could say if you are facing Dimitris the covered bridge is about 20 yards east of Dimitris. Or that we are south of hopkinton, henniker is west, and/or warner is northwest of hopkinton.
Absolute location is its exact place on earth and normally given in forms of latitude and longitude. If you were trying to find an exact location you would likely use latitude and longitude. For example, the apple tree at HMHS. Its latitude is 43° 13’ 50.2” N and its longitude 71° 43’ 09.0” W.
The two types of location can be very useful but depending on what you are trying to do one may help more than the other.
Hopkinton is a small, welcoming town. If you were to come to Hopkinton you would probably come across the covered bridge located by our town's pizza place, Dimitris. In our town we have many small businesses across town that we help and support. For example, we have a small boutique where you could find many trinkets and clothes. We have a couple restaurants in our town. One of them is a pizza place called Dimitris. Another one is The Everyday Cafe, many people come there to get coffee or a good breakfast. We also have The Covered Bridge restaurant which is more of a dinner place located on the side of the river. In our town we have a small convenient store on the way to the middle highschool. We play all our sports either at the high school or our public town library that you could find after passing the fire station.
In Hopkinton if you were to go on a walk you would probably come across the contoocook river or maybe go up gould hill. Hopkinton is located by a lot of woods, throughout the woods you would see pine trees, maple trees, hemlocks, spruce trees and many other trees throughout the woods. In Hopkinton, the weather seems to shift. Some days in the fall it will be 70° but then the next day it will be 30° and snowing. Normally in the summer the average temperature is around the 80°s. It snows A LOT. It snows a lot in NH in general but a lot of the time we get a heavy amount of snow.
