The O and T, TO, or OT map was created in the Dark Ages or Migration Period (476–800 CE). When the Roman Empire fell in the last town of Romulus. This period, as the name infers, was when intellectual darkness fell in the Western Region; and when the Huns, Goths, Vandals, Bulgars, Alani, Suebi, and Franks migrated. During the Dark Ages Isidore of Seville is credited for creating the map. He was born in what we now call Cartagena, Spain and on April 4, 636. In addition, he was a scholar. The OT map is oriented to the East with Asia at the top, twice as big as the to other continents because it is said that the great "Lost Garden of Eden" was at the Northernmost point of the Earth. So, that is why the Garden and why the East is at the top of most Midevial maps.
