As shown in the Cuba population swipe above, the overall population in 2012 grew quite a bit from the overall population in 1970. The changes in the dot sizes tell us that Havana grew in population the most. In contrast some places in Cuba hardly changed in size at all. No areas in Cuba decreased in population from 1970 to 2012.
