What Columbus "Discovered" while in the Caribbean:
Response:
I was interested in how Columbus thought that he discovered all these new things when the people that were there already knew it and were teaching him all of it. Also, I found the idea of the hammocks useful. The passage made me think differently about and how when people travel they learn new things. When I go to different places like the time I went to Arizona I discovered new things that I didn’t know about. I learned about how they have their trash cans underground so they don’t have an ugly eye sore and it is helpful to the environment. When I was there I also learned that they have to have big drainage areas for when it rains and it has the dry sponge effect. Traveling brings you new culture and new ideas to help better our community.
