Summary:
Columbus's return voyage was a very rough. To start it was slow. Very slow. But it got worse. A monstrous storm separated two of the remaining ships. The one Columbus was on however now had a damaged sail. They needed help. But the closest civilization were islands occupied by Spain's worst enemies: Portugal. Their ships were repaired but were told to head straight to Portugal. Not just that but their capital. This annoyed Columbus very much.
Thoughts and Ideas:
What were the chances of Columbus not dying in that storm. That was a monsterus storm! And they were only sailing in these tiny wooden bath tubs. Now I am just imagining what would of happened if Columbus never returned to Europe. Who else would of found this forgotten land. And what would of the Native American Tech be like?
I wonder why Columbus didn't just lie when his enimys told him to go to there capital and not just go straight to Spain. And why did't Spain use Columbus's little shortcut. Its a helpful shortcut they never used!
My Opinion on Columbus Day
I think that Columbus day is just awful. It should not igsist. Its glorifying a man who enslaved and tortured people who did pretty much nothing to him. Not just that but he brought over disease. That ended up whipping out a lot. Now I thank the concord monitor for both making your link hard to find and giving me some info about the topic. Now many states have already began calling Columbus Day Indigenous Peoples day to celebrate the achievements the natives made. Now I also want to introduce another person for the table. Leif Erickson. Probably the first man to ever set foot on the Americas. A Viking.
