Summary:
Columbus and his now 2 ships (the Pinta and the Nina) start heading back to Spain. Conflict between the Caribs and sailors erupted during a trade on one of the native islands. As Columbus and his crew are sailing back, they get hit by a storm and the Pinta is nowhere to be seen. Fortunately, the Nina lands on the Azores and is repaired by the Puerto ricans. The Nina lands in Lisbon, Spain and Columbus is congratulated by the King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain. The Pinta is blown North by the storm and arrives to Spain weeks later.
Concord Monitor thoughts
I think the NH State Capital changing Columbus day to Indigenous peoples' day is a great idea. Columbus lied, cheated, and treated the native people of Islands he discovered horribly. I think it's just to switch the name in honor of the people Columbus treated badly. He also treated his men awfully. Columbus only discovered some of the Caribbean islands, not the mainland of America ( one island he named was Hispaniola). At least not on this Voyage.
